when starting faceless youtube there is a lot of mistakes that
If you’re just starting out with YouTube automation, it’s easy to fall into traps that can wreck your progress before you even get started. So here are pitfalls to avoid and tips for Beginners diving into YouTube automation. These will help you sidestep costly mistakes that derail growth or profits, which will, in turn, help you avoid wasted time, money, and effort and set yourself up for success.
And, I will reveal what you should actually be focussing on to turn your faceless YouTube empire into a profitable thriving business!
Plus as a bonus, I will tell you the secret metrics YouTube really cares about that will make you go viral
Learn from my biggest YouTube automation fails
“A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether”
First I want to make you understand why it is so important to avoid mistakes, which sounds obvious.
But knowing what CAN go wrong and being able to work around that and prepare for it can literally change everything in your business.
i lost my $70,000/Month e-commerce business in 2021 because of a mistake
I lost my $7,000/month YouTube channel in 2022 because of a mistake
I lost countless other YouTube automation channels (and so revenue) because of multiple mistakes I made, that could have easily been avoided
Of course, they were all “valuable lessons”.
which I did recover from and now are turned into cool life stories of peaks and valleys.
But at the time of these things happening, it felt like the end of the world.
Losing your business and cash flow from one day to the other is not fun at all, and causes a lot of stress, uncertainty and lost money.
But worst of all… You lose your MOMENTUM.
And especially if you think about the fact that it could have probably been avoided if I put a little more time and money into proper guidance or KNOWLEDGE to avoid them.
So having said that,
Here are some things I would tell myself to avoid if I were to start from scratch
And after that some things I would do instead.
5 Youtube Automation Pitfalls to Avoid
Everyone wants to “get rich quick” but trying to cheat the system usually only results in long-term backlash, slower growth, and a bad work ethic.
“There are no shortcuts. If you’re working on finding a shortcut—the easy way—you’re not working hard enough on the fundamentals. You get away with it for a spell, but there is no substitute for the basics. And the first basic is good old-fashioned hard work.”
1. Taking shortcuts
pre-monetized channels, scammers selling views, subscribers and watch hours, and useless SEO services…
Every day I get at least 5 people asking me if they should buy one of the above, whether that is on Fiverr or from some random guy in Pakistan selling this “Service”
people unfortunately love the idea of a shortcut to earning money quicker
but what I have seen from being in the youtube business for 3+ years is that these boosting services always bite back at you and give you trouble down the road.
Sure the idea of being monetized instantly sounds appealing, and sometimes it CAN be,
But these are useless for a beginner, because even if you are monetized.
If you do not get any views you still don't earn money from your channel
and without the proper fundamentals, a monetized channel is still useless since you do not know how to GET VIEWS. which translates to money.
you cannot expect to cheat the system and make money instantly, if that would work the whole world would be doing it,
just think about it.
this does not just apply to YouTube by the way, this applies to literally everything in life
so I would advise you to:
Learn fundamentals of what you want to do
Learn proven systems from people that did it before
start taking action and give it a fair shot
upload at least 100 videos before judging if it works or not for you
stop try and find shortcuts, there are none.
this one was more a general approach business mindset thing you must understand,
the next 4 will be based more on youtube specifically.
2. Perfectionism and Procrastination
When starting a business, perfectionism and procrastination often work together in a vicious cycle that keeps aspiring entrepreneurs stuck. Here’s how they feed off each other and prevent progress:
per·fec·tion·ism; refusal to accept any standard short of perfection.
You Keep Delaying Action Because It’s Not “Perfect” Yet
Perfectionists often tell themselves, “I’ll start once everything is just right.”
The problem?
Nothing will ever be perfect. Instead of moving forward, you keep tweaking your niche, logo, or banner, thinking that one more adjustment will finally make it launch-ready.
But in reality, you’re just avoiding the discomfort of putting yourself out there.
Youtube is about uploading videos.
simple as that,
Start uploading, stop thinking about uploading.
pro·cras·ti·na·tion; the action of delaying or postponing something.
You Overthink Every Decision Until You’re Stuck
Perfectionism leads to analysis paralysis—the state of endlessly weighing options without making a move.
You might spend weeks (or months) trying to decide:
❌ Which niche is “perfect” for your faceless YouTube channel?
❌ What’s the best name for your brand?
❌ Should you use AI-generated voices or hire a voiceover artist?
The truth? There’s no perfect decision—only progress.
so please take this tip, just start uploading videos in a niche you are passionate about to learn the fundamentals.
The rest will come with time.
3. Overwhelm in skills
running a business takes a lot, there is a lot to learn and mostly you will start as a one person business being the CEO, researcher, editor, graphic designer and marketing department all at once,
Starting YouTube automation, or any business really can be overwhelming at the start.
Beginners often get stuck not knowing what type of channels to make and how to make quality videos, and mostly what niche to start in.
so they learn and learn and watch endless youtube videos on how to make youtube videos (ironic isn’t it?)
unfortunately, you WILL have to learn most of the basic skills,
but be very clear on what you actually need and do not need when starting,
my biggest mistake was spending hour watching complicated video editing tricks and graphic design skills for thumbnails,
But at the start the most important skills in my eyes are understand;
how to find a good niche based on supply and demand
building a channel logo, banner, and simple SEO
creating a simple but good thumbnail
Writing a good script that engages viewers
basic video editing skills
these are the 5 core fundamentals to starting youtube automation,
if you want to learn more in depth lessons about this.
i have made a free 5 day challenge you can join
it goes over each fundamental step and gives you actionable advice and accountability so you actually do start.
you can join the challenge here.
4. Expensive videos and outsourcing
The reason youtube automation is called youtube automation is because we usually “automate” the video production.
This type of leverage is amazing once you are making money with your channel since this takes by far the most time,
The leverage you create by doing this can be amazing and make your channel semi-passive.
the only downfall; you need to pay freelancers to make your videos.
the prices for this range from $60 per video all the way up to multiple thousands per video.
as a beginner, you DO NOT want to spend hundreds or thousands on high-quality videos.
Instead, you want to test a lot of videos and again; learn the fundamentals first.
you probably do not have the financial funds to put hundreds of dollars into videos that you are not sure will make you any return (it’s a high-risk business after all).
so instead of outsourcing immediately,
I would recommend you start building A.I Faceless youtube channels.
with some cheaper software, you can do this for less than $100 a month
I made a full guide on how to do this in this post
oh and by the way before you jump to conclusions;
most of my 1-on-1 students use A.I self-made channels earn more than a lot of students who run freelancers’ outsourced channels (the RPM in some of these niches is ridiculously high)
5. Busy titles and thumbnails
Give me a K.I.S.S Stupid!
Just kidding, sort of!
What does KISS stand for?
Keep it simple, stupid
KISS is a design principle that stands for “Keep it simple and straightforward” (or sometimes “Keep it short or simple” or “Keep it simple, stupid”)
beginners usually think more is better when it comes to titles and thumbnails.
they want to try and put ALL the information of the whole video on the title and thumbnail,
often overwhelming, ruining the curiosity effect and straight up making ugly thumbnails.
the title and thumbnail are designed for viewers to get a click on your video.
usually less is more here,
build curiosity with a few words and a visual story in the thumbnail leaving the viewer questioning what a video is about.
Don’t try to give it all away in the thumbnail!
it’s also more visually appealing in my eyes (pun intended)
These were 5 of the biggest pitfalls beginners must try and avoid when starting their faceless YouTube business.
5 YouTube automation fundamentals for beginners
Now that we covered the pitfalls, here is in short some things you should be focussing on instead that really will help you run a profitable youtube empire. (i’ll keep them short since this post is getting long)
I will make a longer in depth post on this next.
1. Patience
Instead of shortcuts to success like buying views subs and pre-monetized channels,
Embrace patience and fundamentals…
Boring right?
i know but it sadly is the truth.
learning a skill takes time, and building a business takes time.
so calculate in that this will probably take 6-12 months before you see a proper take-off
“If it was easy, everyone would do it”
if you do not have patience,
you better get back to your 9-5 job and stay there.
get rid of the “get rich quick” mentality.
And start putting your head down and work.
2. Fundamental skills
YouTube comes down to finding high-in-demand niches with low supply and then making videos that satisfy viewers.
that is literally all youtube is.
so learn how to find niches
and learn how to make videos people like to watch.
Stop endlessly scrolling and learning high level in depth editing tricks or secret SEO schemes.
just start making learning how to make videos.
this can be done with simple AI software.
3. starting before you are ready
Your first 10 videos will probably suck, that is completely fine!
it’s better to put out 10 bad videos, learn from them, learn the process of actually creating something and putting it out there,
than to do nothing but watch and “learn” how to do youtube,
learning by practice is the most valuable thing there is.
so start creating
and stop consuming.
4. YouTube automation Ai video production skills
for any beginner I would recommend learning ai video production,
this is cheap, quick and can be VERY profitable.
i have over 5+ students who do over $3,000/month just from A.I Faceless channels alone.
no team, no production cost just some simple software.
the rpm of their channels is $7+
meaning for each 1000 views they earn 7 dollars or more.
highly profitable, easy and quick.
what else do you want?
5. Simplicity is key
Stop overcomplicating things,
life is not that serious, and especially as a beginner it’s better to learn by doing that by sitting idly and being in the learning stages.
learn the fundamental concept of niche research
Learn enough to make a minimally viable video
produce and upload videos
test niches, see what works and does not work.
rinse and repeat this system until you understand youtube better and strike gold.
This was 5 pitfalls to avoid and 5 things you should do instead
With this you should be able to start a successful youtube automation channel in 2025.
