But instead of spending hours sifting through his content, I’ve done the work for you.
In this post, I’ll break down his best tips on making money with YouTube automation, including key takeaways and common pitfalls to avoid. Whether you’re a beginner or already running a channel, these insights will help you build a profitable faceless YouTube business.
The Struggles of Starting a YouTube Automation Channel
Starting a YouTube automation channel sounds simple: create videos, upload them, and collect ad revenue. However, many aspiring creators quickly realize that it’s not as easy as it seems.
The biggest challenge most people face is choosing the right niche. While some niches offer high CPMs (cost per thousand views) and significant audience engagement, others struggle to generate traffic or attract low-paying advertisers.
Picking the wrong niche can mean investing months of effort with little to no returns.
Another major issue is monetization. YouTube has strict guidelines for monetization, including the 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscriber requirements before you can start earning ad revenue.
Even after monetization, some channels suffer from low engagement, which negatively impacts their earnings. Many beginners also make the mistake of reusing content incorrectly, leading to copyright claims, demonetization, or even account termination.
Finally, burnout is a real threat. Many YouTube automation creators attempt to do everything themselves—scripting, voiceovers, editing, and managing uploads.
Without proper delegation or automation, they quickly get overwhelmed and give up. These are just a few of the many challenges that make succeeding in YouTube automation more difficult than it first appears.
The Cost of Doing It Wrong
If you don’t set up your YouTube automation business correctly from the start, the consequences can be severe. One of the biggest risks is wasted time and effort. Many beginners spend months producing videos that fail to gain traction because they chose the wrong niche, used poor content strategies, or didn’t optimize their videos for YouTube’s algorithm.
Beyond wasted time, there’s also a significant financial risk. Investing in thumbnail designers, video editors, and AI-generated voiceovers can quickly add up, especially if the content doesn’t generate revenue. For those who try to scale too fast without first ensuring their channel is profitable, the losses can be even greater.
Another critical risk is demonetization. YouTube’s policies on reused content, copyright infringement, and fair use can be difficult to navigate. Many automation channels have been permanently demonetized because they relied too heavily on repurposed content without adding significant value. Without monetization, your channel essentially becomes worthless.
Ignoring YouTube’s rules can even lead to legal trouble. Copyright owners can issue takedown requests or lawsuits, putting you at risk of fines or account bans. If you don’t approach YouTube automation strategically, you can lose your investment, time, and even your entire channel.
Wasted time and effort: Spending months on a channel that never gains traction.
Financial loss: Investing in videos, thumbnails, and marketing without a return.
Demonetization: Breaking YouTube’s monetization rules could mean losing your revenue stream.
Legal trouble: Using copyrighted content incorrectly can lead to copyright strikes and even lawsuits.
Missed opportunities: While competitors succeed, your channel might struggle due to lack of strategic execution.
The good news? There’s a proven formula for success, and Noah Morris has outlined the best ways to build a successful YouTube automation channel. Let’s dive into his top strategies.
5 of Noah Morris’ Best Tips for Making Money with YouTube Automation
1. Focus on High-CPM Niches for Maximum Profitability
Noah Morris frequently emphasizes that your niche selection can make or break your YouTube automation success.
CPM, or cost per thousand views, determines how much advertisers are willing to pay for ad placements on your videos. Certain niches, such as finance, business, and legal topics, attract high-paying advertisers and can generate significantly higher earnings per view than entertainment or general vlogging content.
If you’re looking to maximize profits, it’s essential to research and choose a niche with both a large audience and high CPM rates. Finance-related topics like investing, passive income, and cryptocurrency tend to offer some of the highest ad rates.
Likewise, business content, software tutorials, and insurance-related topics often attract premium advertisers willing to pay more for targeted traffic.
If you have no clue where to start find niches like this. check out Nexlev, the tool Noah created to help you find profitable faceless niches.
Some High-CPM Niches Include:
Personal finance (investing, saving, making money online)
Business and entrepreneurship
Legal and insurance content
Health and fitness (specific sub-niches like weight loss or medical insights)
Tech reviews and software tutorials
Why CPM Matters:
A video with a $10 CPM earns $100 per 10,000 views, while a video with a $2 CPM earns only $20 for the same number of views.
High-CPM niches attract advertisers willing to pay more for quality traffic.
2. Leverage AI & Outsourcing for Efficiency
Noah is a strong advocate for using AI tools and outsourcing to streamline the content creation process. Instead of spending hours manually creating videos, he recommends leveraging AI for scriptwriting, voiceovers, and video editing (to a certain degree).
For example, AI tools like ChatGPT can generate video scripts based on trending topics, while services like ElevenLabs provide realistic AI voiceovers that sound human-like. Video creation platforms such as Pictory and InVideo allow creators to automate video production with stock footage, making it possible to produce high-quality content with minimal effort.
For those who prefer a human touch, outsourcing is another effective option. Hiring freelance scriptwriters, voiceover artists, and video editors from platforms like Fiverr or Upwork can help scale a channel without overloading yourself with work. By automating and delegating tasks, creators can focus on scaling their business rather than being stuck in daily production tasks.
AI Tools for YouTube Automation:
ChatGPT – for scriptwriting
ElevenLabs – for AI voiceovers
Pictory or InVideo – for Stock material video generation
Nexlev - For Finding Viral high cpm niches
1of10 - For packaging videos
Outsourcing Strategies:
Hire scriptwriters and editors from Fiverr, Upwork, or OnlineJobs.ph.
Use voiceover artists instead of AI for more engagement.
Delegate research, editing, and publishing to freelancers to scale faster.
Rather than trying to create content blindly, Noah suggests analyzing and reverse-engineering the most successful videos in your niche. By studying what works—such as video formats, titles, thumbnails, and retention strategies—you can replicate successful formulas while adding your own unique spin.
Start by searching for high-performing videos related to your niche and analyzing their structures. Look at factors such as video length, storytelling techniques, and engagement strategies. Tools like VidIQ and TubeBuddy can help track trending keywords and topics, allowing you to create videos that align with viewer demand.
How to Reverse-Engineer Content?
Noah’s Method to find high-performing niches.
use a tool like Nexlev to find outlier videos from existing creators
figure out if there is multiple channels (especially less than 3 months old ones) doing good numbers in this niche
copy their titles in YouTube search and see if there is more channels having success with these topics
find multiple channels or a “pattern” to decide if a niche is good to get started in (do not re-invent the wheel)
important; do not blatantly copy other niches 1on1 but model after them.

4. Use Fair Use Correctly to Avoid Demonetization
One of the biggest mistakes faceless YouTube automation creators make is improperly using copyrighted content. Noah stresses the importance of understanding YouTube’s Fair Use policies to avoid demonetization or copyright strikes.
To ensure compliance, always add significant value to any reused content. This can be done by providing in-depth commentary, educational analysis, or transforming the original footage into something new.
Additionally, using royalty-free stock footage, licensed music, and original voiceovers can help keep your content monetization-friendly.
Best Practices for Fair Use:
Add meaningful commentary, analysis, or educational insights to reused content.
Don’t just re-upload existing content without significant edits.
Use royalty-free footage from sources like Pexels, Pixabay, or Storyblocks.
If using copyrighted clips, keep them under 10 seconds and provide original commentary.
5. Scale Smartly: Start With One Channel Before Expanding
Many beginners fall into the trap of launching multiple channels at once, thinking they’ll increase their chances of success.
However, Noah advises against this approach. Instead, he suggests focusing on building one successful channel first, mastering audience retention, content optimization, and monetization strategies before expanding.
Once a channel is consistently generating revenue, creators can reinvest those earnings into new niches, allowing for controlled and sustainable growth rather than spreading resources too thin.
Why Scaling Too Early Is a Mistake:
Running multiple channels dilutes focus and leads to lower-quality videos.
One successful channel provides cash flow to reinvest in new channels or niches.
Focus on retention, CTR (Click-Through Rate), and watch time before expanding.
5 Common Mistakes to Avoid in YouTube Automation
Now that we know what works, we should even be more careful of what does not work!
'“Here are 5 lessons from ~6000 failed YouTube videos” - Noah morris
It’s not all about low CTR AND AVD.
The thing most failed videos had in common was not bad retention or bad CTR. It was the following:
A topic that was either generic, too niche, or overly saturated
A poor understanding & integration of what piqued the audience's interest in the first place.
A lot of people go crazy about CTR and AVD, and yes the higher the better in a way but high stats on these do not always guarantee viral videos.
some of my most viral videos have less than 5% CTR and 25% AVD… concept and packaging is often more important.
DO NOT underestimate the leveraged effects of video packaging.
A few changed words in the title can grant 10x results than spending 20 hours more on adding fancy VFX to a video.
so focus more on how the thumbnail and title of a video look and the “IDEA” of the video and concept and not so much on perfecting details in the video itself, especially when starting out. just start uploading and see if your audience likes the concept of your video, not so much the special sound effect halfway through a video.
Confirmation Bias.
A lot of the failed videos & channels were structured around what I believed the audience wanted, ignoring evidence that suggests otherwise.
Don't assume you know what your viewer wants, intuition is good but don't become overconfident.
Don’t be afraid to invest and use the 80/20 rule.
A good 80% of the failed videos were experiments. Trying new formats, niches, and topics. These experiments led to the formats that made 20% of the videos that made me money.
Do NOT Be impatient,
A good 60-70% of the failed videos came from my first few years on YouTube. Growing in this industry is not linear it's exponential.
Time in the game > quick hacks to get rich
Bonus; Relying too much on AI without human oversight.
fully ai-generated videos often lack engagement and human emotion, always review and edit AI-genrated script to add personal flair and Balance AI with human creativity to make content more compelling
